Vintage Pin Cushion

Well, today i felt very blue...working with blue that is, and I especially love the colours of teal and aqua, so I dug into my hoard vault of lace and found some gorgeous teal rosette trim from Lavish Laces and that was my inspiration for this project. This is going to a friend for a swap I am doing so I hope she likes it, and please let me know what you think, feel free to leave a comment below or subscribe to my blog. Thanks for stopping by!

Victorian Ladies Dresser

Well here is my take on a Victorian Ladies Dressing Table.  I really loved making this project, it was at one time a broken picture frame, which I found at a thrift shop.  The lady at the thrift shop was about to toss this in the trash when i said noo!! I can save that! She smiled at me and said ok great if you want it just take it, no charge!  So I brought it home and gave it some TLC, and this is the result. Take a look at the close up pics and you will see some vintage perfume bottles I made from Beads and a lovely little lamp to light up her table also made from beads and chain from my stash. I used Prima Nature's Garden and Almanac paper, with some Maya Road Tulle trim along the bottom of the dresser.  You will also see a small compact, ladies hand mirror, fan and some wee little Wild Orchid Craft Flowers to finish it off.
Of course, I also used some gorgeous Crafty Emblies on here as well, and as always it enhanced my project. The dresses, Passion sentiment, vintage telephone, mini dressform, gloves and hangers fit right in with the theme of this piece.
Please take a look and let me know what you think, feel free to leave a comment below, thanks for stopping by today!

I used the beautiful Crafty Emblies Dresses on the side, as every Lady needs her Dressing Gowns at the ready.  Her gloves lay on the top of her dresser, and her vintage telephone is ready for a call from someone special!

Winter White Balsa Box

Well today's project is using the theme of Winter White.  This was the project I did as a thank you gift for a friend, but also it was my entry for today's design challenge over on the Crafty Emblies FB Crafting page.  I used a plain balsa box, which was a thrift store find, painted it white and covered the top and bottom with some script paper from Prima's Botanical paper line.

I then started to embellish with some gorgeous Wild Orchid Craft flowers in whites and cream tones, and added some tiny little lilac rose buds as contrast.  The lace is from Lavish Laces, and you can find the link to her store at the side of my blog there.

The fan i got from a friend, Luisa Diaz, who has a store on Facebook called Kittys'ScrapPost which you can check out here  http://www.facebook.com/events/273276326133877/#!/groups/430340737022222/

I finished off with some stickpins, a cameo and some pearls from my stash, and there you have it, a Winter White Vintage look that will be great for any time of the year!

Prima Pixie Glen Card

Since it is so close to Valentine's Day, everyone is making cards, and I am no exception!  I did want to do something a bit different today, and picked out my Prima Pixie Glen 6 x 6 paper to use to make this card for a friend.  I really love this paper, well I love all the Prima paper lol, but this one is especially nice. Below are some photos of what I came up with. Now, I am no professional card maker, but I do love to play around with making some from time to time, so I do hope you like what I have made. Feel free to leave me a comment or subscribe to my blog, its great to have you here!

 Lace Valentine Flowers

As Valentine Day approaches, I am looking for some new ways to send a little thank you to my online friends, and instead of saying Happy Valentines day with a card, why not try something a bit different, and make some flowers.  I really enjoy making these flowers, it gives me a chance to play with my hoard vault of lace lol!  In the first photo, the large flower is made with some vintage eyelet lace, and the heart is part of a trim from Lavish Laces on Etsy, the tassle was a thrift store find. the smaller flower is more Lavish Laces goodies and part of a thrifty store doily, and wild orchid craft rose, and some Valentine ribbon from Michaels!

This photo is more pink than reds, the first flower, again, from Lavish Laces, WOC rose, stickpin made with some Maya Road Heart pins, the second flower is vintage trim from a thrift store, a wooden heart i painted, bit of bling and cameo from my stash.

Here is all four of them together, they are going to someone as a set of 4, its a different way to say Happy Valentines Day!

Using Mixed Media to Enhance our Projects

It seems everyone is mixing media to create some gorgeous crafty items lately, and i feel that this is a trend that wont go out of style anytime soon.  I really love to create using different items, one of my favorite items to use is Modelling paste.  It is so quick and easy to use, it goes on smooth, just like icing a cake!  Use modelling paste with any of your stencils or masks you have handy and you will be amazed at the demension your project will take on. Here are some photos of one of my recent projects.  I used Prima Fairy belle paper, and also some prima embellishments, the chandelier and zipper pull, also i used some Wild Orchid Craft Flowers, vintage jewlery and laces from Lavish Laces, and of course the lovley Crafty Emblies always enhances my projects...take a look and see what you think, and leave me a comment and let me know!  any questions, just drop me a line!
