Vive la France Altered Box ScraPerfect DT

Good morning ScraPerfect Fans! Kim here today with my next DT Project for ScraPerfect.
This time I have altered a box I got from my local dollar store.

Firstly, I covered the paper mache box with a good coat of DecoArt Media gesso.

I decoupaged a Paris themed napkin on the top of the box , then I painted
the sides of the box with some Prima Art Alchemy paints in two different colours of Pink. After that was dry, I added some white chalk paint over the top to match the colour of the napkin.

I used The Best Glue Ever to adhere down some texture, using some mica flakes, glitter glass and micro beads on various areas of the box.

Next, I again used the Best Glue Ever to add some wooden hearts. I have the No Clog Writing Cap on my glue which makes for easy and smooth coverage of the glue to all my embellishments.

I also added more of the glitter glass to the wooden hearts to add some extra sparkle.

I added several laces and trims from my stash around the box to give it a lovely shabby chic look.

To finish off the box I added a handmade flower, resin cherub and a small wicker heart to the side.

Once again, here is the finished box, just in time to put a Valentine surprise inside for some one special!

Please check out the ScraPerfect Store for the items I have used to create my project.

Use Your Wings Burlap Mixed Media Canvas White Rose Crafts DT

Good morning Rosies! Today I am sharing a mixed media burlap canvas I have altered using lots of White Rose Crafts goodies!

I cut out 3 large hearts from the Lemoncraft Yesterday paper, and used that as my base to start. I had the image of the fairy in my stash, which was sent to me from a friend. The flowers are from Artemio Rhinestone & Paper Flower set.
I also added a little resin cherub from my stash as well.

I love the Altair Art butterfly ephemera! I added some Dovecraft glitter glue in crystal to the wings to make them sparkle.
The fairy also had to have some sparkly wings too!

I added a few laces, cheesecloth, doilies, and some very old tatting to give shabby vintage vibe to the canvas.

I also used the Tim Holtz stamp from Stampers Anonymous "French Market" to add some scripty writing to the canvas.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and will check out all the great items in the White Rose Crafts Store.

Mixed Media ATC's Using Distress Oxides & Water White Rose Crafts DT

Good morning friends, Kim here with my next DT project for White Rose Crafts. This week the team are working with the water activated inks that WRC has in stock. I chose to use my favorite Distress Oxides for my ATC's.

I started off with some Paintable paper from The Tales of You and Me collection by Prima, and cut the paper down to ATC size, which is 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches. This particular paper pad is sold out in the WRC store, but they do have the Salvage District Paintable paper in stock and that would work for this project.

Now on to the Oxides! I used several colours, but started off with the Evergreen Bough. I smeared some on my craft mat and then activated it with water. I then took my atc and ran it thru the activated ink and the pattern on the paper appeared like magic!

This is just one way to activate the Distress Oxides with water, the second way is to go direct to paper with your ink. I did that below with my other colours Dried Marigold....

Peacock Feathers, and also I used Victorian Velvet. All can be found in the WRC Store!

Here is the result on the paper of all 4 of my ATC's.

Now its time to activate them with the water. I am using a spritzer bottle from my local dollar store for this. It has a nice fine mist on it, so I get good coverage with the water.

Here is the result once it is dry.

Now on to some background stamping using the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Stamp set called French Market.

To add embellishments to my ATC's I am using the Kaisercraft wood flourishes and also the Melissa Francis resin key embellishments. I gave them all a coat of white paint.

Now its time to put them all together. I added some lace to the background for some fun texture, my embellishments and also a Tim Holtz small talk phrase to finish them off.

I also added some Recollections flowers and some Dress It Up button embellishments for some fun.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and will check out all the White Rose Crafts items in the shop!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have found some inspiration here.

Love This Life Altered Tag ScraPerfect DT

Good morning friends, Kim here with my next DT project for ScraPerfect. This time I have created a mixed media altered tag for a challenge on my fellow ScraPerfect team mate Kim Lippincott's YouTube Channel.
You can find a link to Kim's challenge here

I used my favorite glue (of course!) to create this tag for Kim. The Best Glue Ever makes quick work of this type of project, it is one of the best glue's for paper crafting!

I used some chipboard for the base, added my scrapbooking paper over that and then adhered my adorable little bunny for an image on top.

I also added some laces, wooden embellishments and some hand dyed doilies and seam binding to bring it all together.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today, don't forget to check out Kim's challenge on YouTube!
Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you found some inspiration here!

Follow Your Heart Mixed Media Bird House Featuring DecoArt

Good morning friends, Kim here today with a fun project for Deco Art! I purchased this wooden bird house at my local dollar store and I really loved the scroll work on the front of it. I knew immediately that it would be altered with lots of amazing products from DecoArt!

I started off with the DecoArt Media gesso and gave the house an all over coat with that. Next, I used the Americana Decor Chalky Finish in Lace over the top of the gesso.

Now it was time to get out some my my napkins I had in my stash. The DecoArt Decoupage Matte Medium is perfect for this and really worked a treat for sticking down the napkins.  The Matte Medium gives a lovely finish and I don't have to worry about my napkin coming up off the birdhouse either.

Once the napkin was dry, I got out the Americiana Decor Crackle medium. I wanted the roof and the front of the bird house to have an old and weathered look.  I applied a good even coat and left it to dry naturally over night.

Now it is time for the magic to happen! Once the crackle was dry, I used my Americana Paint in Blush Pink to go over the crackle.

Remember to only go in one direction and not to paint over the crackle medium several times. One good swipe with the brush will give you great cracks like you see in the photo above. I love how the roof came out!!

Now it was time to do the front of the bird house. For this I used Americana Paint in Antique White.
The same rules apply as they did for the roof. Don't over paint with your brush, go in one direction and let the crackle work its magic.

I also gave the edges of the roof and the front of the bird house a light sanding when they were dry to add to the distressed look.

I added some wooden embellishments and flowers to the birdhouse for a finishing touch.

A little embossed wooden crown tops off the birdhouse!

I hope you will check out DecoArt.com and get yourself some of these amazing products!
