Magical Wee Books A White Rose Crafts DT Project

Good morning and happy October! I have some fun and magical wee books to share with you today, using some amazing products from White Rose Crafts.

I started off using some black cardstock from my stash and created my own wee little book using a chipboard base. I glued the chipboard to the cardstock on both sides and this formed the base of the books.

I used the American Crafts "Haunted Hollow" paper for the top of the books. This paper had different book covers on it, so it was perfect for this project.  I also used some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink to each of the books to make them look old and grungy.

I also used the Dress it up Halloween set, and used three of the little embellishments to decorate the covers of the tiny books.

I used old book pages inside the books to make them feel authentic and sewed in the signatures to each of the books. So, now they are real tiny books that can be open and read!

I added some of the ScrapBerry Witch Hat charms to the spines of each of the books so everyone knows just who they belong to!

I decided the books were not spooky enough so I added some "cobwebs" made with hot glue to each of the books, now they look old and like they have been sitting on someone's shelf for a very long time.

The finishing touch was some Imagine Crafts Sheer Shimmer Spray, this gave my books the magical sparkle they needed.

I hope you have enjoyed my wee magical books today, thanks for stopping by!

Mini Magical Apothecary Jars White Rose Crafts DT

Good morning friends, Kim here with my next DT project for White Rose Crafts.
I am so excited about this project, I love these little mini bottles, I got them at my local Dollar store, and I had so much fun altering them into tiny magical apothecary jars!

The first thing I did was apply a bit of gesso to make them look like they had been sitting around for a while.

Now it is time to fill my little jars with all sorts of magical things. These tiny little clam shells with pearl charms from the WRC store are the start of my Mermaid Wishes jar!

By adding some glitter, some Dress it Up Buttons, micro beads, and some of the Doodles paper playground sparkle blends I had in my stash, it gave this jar the magic and glitter I was looking for.

Next up, Dragon Scales! Aren't these pieces from the Doodles Paper Playground Boughs of Holly Set perfect for that?

I added more of the sparkle blend, some mica flakes and glitter and I also printed off my own labels for the jars as well.

I also used the Kaisercraft Mademoiselle wooden embellishments, with this lovely cameo piece and a wooden key from the same set for my Unicorn Horn and Dragon Scale jars. I added some of the Nuvo Glitter drops to them too for lots of dimension and sparkle.

I made my own Unicorn horn with some paper clay and glitter!

Once again here are my finished jars. I just love them so cute and fun...and magical too!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have found some inspiration here!

Shabby Chic Altered Wall Key White Rose Crafts DT

Good morning friends, Kim here with my next DT project for White Rose Crafts.
This time I have done a home decor item! I got this heavy chipboard key from a local box store, and I thought it would be perfect to alter with lots of amazing items from the WRC Store.

The first step is to paint the sides and any areas that will show with some paint. I used a multi surface paint for this and it did the trick nicely. I also took the key and traced around it on some of the gorgeous Lemoncraft Yesterday paper.  Once the paint was dry, I used Mod Podge to stick down the paper.

While the key was drying, it was time to get out my embellishments and alter them to go on the key.
I used some fun chipboard pieces from the WRC store, and also the metal heart and flower are from the shop also.  I added some of the same paint I used on the key to the pieces and then added a touch of pink paint as well to pick up on the colours in the paper.

Once everything was dry, it was time to layer on my pieces.  I got out some Recollections flowers and used one of the Melissa Frances resin keys in the middle of the chipboard heart with wings
You can also see some of the Altair Art butterflies and one of the pieces from the Dress It up Button Set in the photo.

On the end of the key, I added some more flowers and the metal flower, along with a bit of the chicken wire chipboard, and a little butterfly to finish it off.

Of course everything got a lovely coat of Dovecraft glitter glue in Crystal, it makes everything sparkle!  The final touch was some of the Distress Oxide Spray in Picked Raspberry to make the pink stand out on the paper and flowers, it added just the right mixed media touch.

It turned out so pretty, I am going to hang it up in my bedroom!

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and have found some inspiration here.

Mixed Media ATC's Using Distress Oxides & Water White Rose Crafts DT

Good morning friends, Kim here with my next DT project for White Rose Crafts. This week the team are working with the water activated inks that WRC has in stock. I chose to use my favorite Distress Oxides for my ATC's.

I started off with some Paintable paper from The Tales of You and Me collection by Prima, and cut the paper down to ATC size, which is 2.5 inches x 3.5 inches. This particular paper pad is sold out in the WRC store, but they do have the Salvage District Paintable paper in stock and that would work for this project.

Now on to the Oxides! I used several colours, but started off with the Evergreen Bough. I smeared some on my craft mat and then activated it with water. I then took my atc and ran it thru the activated ink and the pattern on the paper appeared like magic!

This is just one way to activate the Distress Oxides with water, the second way is to go direct to paper with your ink. I did that below with my other colours Dried Marigold....

Peacock Feathers, and also I used Victorian Velvet. All can be found in the WRC Store!

Here is the result on the paper of all 4 of my ATC's.

Now its time to activate them with the water. I am using a spritzer bottle from my local dollar store for this. It has a nice fine mist on it, so I get good coverage with the water.

Here is the result once it is dry.

Now on to some background stamping using the Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Stamp set called French Market.

To add embellishments to my ATC's I am using the Kaisercraft wood flourishes and also the Melissa Francis resin key embellishments. I gave them all a coat of white paint.

Now its time to put them all together. I added some lace to the background for some fun texture, my embellishments and also a Tim Holtz small talk phrase to finish them off.

I also added some Recollections flowers and some Dress It Up button embellishments for some fun.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and will check out all the White Rose Crafts items in the shop!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have found some inspiration here.

Make A Wish Mixed Media Box White Rose Crafts DT

Good morning everyone, Kim here with my next DT project for White Rose Crafts
But, first a little announcement!
Run over and check out all the amazing Your Next Stamp goodies in the White Rose Store and get your 10% off discount.

Now, on to my project.  With Christmas coming, I have been super busy creating goodies to give to friends and relatives. I started off my box with the Lemoncraft paper called Christmas Carols
I used the 12 x 12 paper and scored in at 2 inches and snipped the corners to fold the top. I repeated the process for the bottom of the box as well, but scored it at 1 3/4 and snipped the corners so they would fold.

The paper has a beautiful music theme on the top of it which I loved but I wanted to shabby it up a little and added a bit of gesso and used the Distress Oxide in Tumbled Glass to give it a lovely blue hue.

Once that was done I used the Couture Creations stencil called "Be Merry" and some texture paste. While the paste was wet, I added some shabby blue embossing powder and some blue glitter and heat set it. Now the stars look so pretty and glittery! You can also see the little Dress it up Unicorn Baubles in the top left corner,  peeking out from the Recollections Flowers I used to decorate the corner of the box. I also added one of the Dress It Up Snowflake buttons just above the sentiment as well.

I framed the box with some soft laces from my stash around the edges.

I used the Couture Creations layered snow flake die, and embossed the snowflakes with the same embossing powder and topped them off with a rhinestone for some really amazing shine and glitter!

Lastly, I used the Altair Art butterflies ephemera sheet, which I cut out from  and glued them down. A finishing touch was the Crystal glitter glue from Dovecraft, it really brought the butterflies to life.
As you can see I used a ton of amazing items from the White Rose Craft Store!

I hope you like my project I have shared today and found some inspiration here !
