Shabby Chic Frame
&
Graphic45 A Ladies Diary Paper

Well, I am happy to see all the new subbies here, thank you everyone for your support and for commenting on my posts and photos!
I love to meet new friends and this blog has given me the chance to expand my creativity and my horizions, so for that, I thank everyone who has stopped by.

Today, I wanted to create a little thank you gift for someone, and since I was in a Shabby Chic mood, I grabbed my Graphic45 Ladies diary paper, and I started fussy cutting out some of my favorite images and building layers on top of the frame.  It all started out with a simple coat of white acrylic paint, some Crafty Emblies (of course!) and an old Christmas ornament..that's right, that dress you see in the bottom right hand corner is a former Christmas ornament, which was super blingy and gold and i gave it a simple coat of white paint, a bit of old gold rub and buff and added some trim and flowers and it transformed it!  Remember you can paint over that glitter, it gives your piece texture, and its super easy to cover!

I then added some beautiful Wild Orchid Craft flowers, a vintage doily and a few metal embellishments and pearl trim for that finishing touch, and here you have the final product...

Thanks again for stopping by today, please feel free to leave a comment below or subscribe to my blog, happy Saturday everyone!!

Altered Mixed Media Canvas

I started off with 2 canvases and decided to just have fun and play around with some different textures, colours and dimensions.  I used the Steampunk Debutante paper from Graphic45 for the background on this piece and framed around the outside of the canvas with black acrylic paint.  I also used some textured modelling paste and my stencils to create different dimensions on the canvas, and tore up some of the paper to attach a very cool prima zipper to the top part to make it look like the butterfly underneath is peeking through.

So have a look and let me know what you think, feel free to leave a comment or if you have any questions about this or any other of my projects just ask, I am happy to help!

Fun with Clothes Pins!

Are you bored with the plain old clothes pins that we store our lace on...well how about altering some to get this very cool effect!  I have used acrylic paints, Tim Holtz distress inks, some stamps and stayz-on ink to stamp my images on the pins...take a peek at my photos and let me know what you think!

Altered Fairy Belle Balsa Box

I| dove into my paper stash today and came up with one of my favorite papers, the Fairy Belle stack by Prima.  I just adore the colours and themes in this paper it is one of the most gorgeous papers from Prima I think!  I also have had this balsa box sitting here for a while, I got it at a thrift store, and believe it or not, it is my one and only balsa box, so I thought ok, its time to do something with it, and this is the result below...let me know what you think, please leave me a comment or if you have any questions about anything on my blog, just drop me a line anytime...thanks for stopping by today!

Spring Flowers!

Well, even though we have got a ton of snow right now, it didn't stop me from thinking of the springtime ahead!  I dove into my lace stash today and decided to bring a little pastel colour to all the white I see when I look outside.  So this is what I came up with, working in the spring colour theme I made some new flowers with lace, fabric, vintage jewelry, Wild Orchid Craft Flowers and some vintage doilies.  I hope you will find some springtime inspiration here! Lavish Laces Flowers

I have been looking for different ways to use my wood items and lace from Lavish Laces on Etsy, and since I love the look of art tiles, I thought why not use them in this way.  So here is what I came up with today.  I used my Tim Holtz distress inks and some stamps in my stash, a few embellishments and added them as centres to my flowers.  I hope you like the look of them, I am happy with how they turned out!
Please feel free to leave a comment below, thanks for stopping by my blog!
