Altered Wooden Stained Glass Window

Here is a lovey wood window from my stash, that I have altered here to show you!
This is one of my favorite new pieces and when I got mine I immediately started to get ideas! So here is what I came up with....

I had lots of fun altering this, I used glass bead texture paste and regular modelling paste mixed with a bit of black acrylic paint to give it the stone grey colour, then used 2 types of a brick mask and some Lindy's Mica Spray, I used "Frolic in the Forest Black". The "glass" is a piece of acetate with alcohol inks I dabbed on and used a straw to blow around the sheet. Then, I attached the acetate to the back of the window with some hot glue, to give the look of stained glass. I took my inspiration from an ancient church I visited when I was in Scotland a year and half ago, Rosslyn chapel, it was this beautiful stone grey colour. hope you like.. :)

SteamPunk Lady with Gears
from Leaky Shed Studio

Here is a fun project I have been working on, this is a chipboard die cut from Leaky Shed Studio I purchased, and I just love her, isn't she amazing?  I did lots of layers of embossing powder in several different colours, and added some of the Prima JunkYard Findings to her gears, and even added one as an earring for her.  I used some copper chain to giver her a necklace and some trimmings, she looks great and was a quick and easy way to add demension to any project.  I really love these chip board pieces made by Leaky Shed Studio, so you will see more crafty items coming up featuring their products soon.  Check out their website for lots of great items  http://www.leakyshedstudio.com/
Thanks everyone!

Mixed Media Canvas
Featuring Leaky Shed Studio Products

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all have had a great weekend, and enjoyed some good ole crafty fun!  This is what I have been working on this weekend, a mixed media canvas for a swap I am doing over on http://2shabbysistersstudio.ning.com/ site.  The lady who is my swap partner, asked for the colours turquoise, pink and white, and I was happy to do that, as they are some of my favorite colours, here is what I came up with.

I started off by prepping my canvas with some white gesso, then I started the layering process, first I used some paper from the Graphic45 Secret Garden line, tore it into pieces and Mod Podged it on the canvas.  Then I took an old book and tore out some of the pages, and crinkled them up and added distress ink around them to give them an aged look. The Crown and Frame are from Leaky Shed Studio http://www.leakyshedstudio.com/ they have wonderful chip board pieces, and I love working with them.

I then started to layer with some stencils and modelling paste, I used my new Maya Road angel wing stencil and I love how it turned out.
After that I used my Lindy's stamp Gang Sprays and gave them a good coat, drying each colour in between layers, after they dried, I used my script stamp and some black ink and went over the canvas with that. Then started to add the embellishments.  The Chipboard pieces are from The Leaky Shed Studio, which include the oval frame, the crown and the gears, I purchased them from DiscountPaperCrafts on Etsy, you can find them here :

I then added more embellishments and lace, I did also spray the lace with my Lindy's Sprays, which you can find at the Lindy's site here:
The flowers I used are from www.wildorchidcrafts.com

The window is a Prima resin piece, the key, lightbulb, bling and flower are from my stash.
The sentiments are cut from the Prima Lifetime collection paper(also purchased from DiscountPaperCrafts), and the metal window was from my stash. Above here in this photo you can see the lace which I sprayed with the Lindy's, it takes the spray really well, I also used some silver and gold rub and buff here and there on things, and finally I used some gesso, to lighten up the whole canvas and give it that shabby chic look.
Let me know what you think, I hope my swap parter will like what I have made her. Feel free to leave a comment or subscribe, I love to hear from you!

Altered Hanging Silhouette Hooks
March DT project for Crafty Emblies

Here is what I came up with this month. I wanted something for my home, and I wanted something practical, and this was just the thing for me!

Here is a pic of the two hooks I created. They are made from a wood base, which was painted with white acrylic paint, then I used the Prima Divine paper on top to cover the front.

I then added some texture with a Prima mask and some modelling paste, used my heat gun to distress it a bit till it bubbled up.  I then used some black soot distress ink around the base and added the flatback pearls.  I then added a CE Large Cameo wooden Head. She also got a coat of white paint and I used another mask and modelling paste to give her the illusion of having flowers in her hair.  I went around her with the black soot ink as well to give some demension.

For the rectangle wall hook, I used the large CE dress form with wings, and used the same procedure on it as I did the Cameo head.  I used the mask and modelling paste on the wings, and added a metal clock embellishment to the centre for interest.

In this close up you will see I also added some of the 3mm CE wood letters, and put the word "hats" just above the hook.

For this one I used the word  "coats" using the 3 mm letters. You can also see the texture on the Head and Wings, it really looks cool!

I then added the hooks and voila! I have a lovely addition to my front hallway.

New Prima Goodies!

Well, all the new releases are out, and that only means one thing...bank account depeltion lol.  Ok, not really, but you know what I mean!  Prima has some of the most amazing stamps and paper lines out this year, and of course I could not resist.  Here is a picture below of some of the new stamps, don't you just love them?

I also decided to treat myself to a few of the new papers, one being the Lifetime collection. So, I combined the gorgeous Doll Stamps and the paper and this is what I came up with!

I used my distress inks and a fine brush and a bit of water to paint her hair, dress and shoes, it worked great and so easy to do! who needs copic markers!  I also made some embellishments with the Prima Engraver collection, you will see one on the tag here at the top right hand corner, its the number 6.

I used lots of layers of the Lifetime collection, and cut out some of the sentiments included in the paper pad, distressed the edges and then added some drywall tape, gesso, sprays and some other embellishments. What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today, please feel free to leave a comment or join my blog, I love to hear from you!  Happy Crafting everyone!!
