Pumpkin People Altered Clock ScraPerfect DT Project

Good morning and happy Friday! I am excited to share my next DT project for ScraPerfect.
This time I have altered a Tim Holtz clock in a Halloween theme, featuring the Pumpkin People!

I have a lot of parts to this project, so I will try to keep it as short as I possibly can. There is quiet a few separate tutorials I could do with this project, but here are some of the highlights!

I started off making some of my own pumpkins out of air dry clay. I was inspired my a friend of mine, Mary TheCraftHoarder who created her own pumpkins last year out of clay. I needed some very small ones for the inside and outside of my clock and these are pretty easy to make. Just roll a ball out of the clay, make some lines for the grooves in the pumpkins and roll out a smaller bit for the stem. I added leaves to some of mine, just taking a tiny bit more of the clay and a pin to make the lines on the leaves. I am pretty happy with the outcome!  These take at least a good day and an half to dry depending on how big you make yours.

Once the pumpkins were dry, I gave them a coat of black paint. I let that dry and once it was, I dry brushed on two different shades of orange. I set that aside to dry and then dry brushed on a couple of different colours of leafy green for the stem and leaves.

I set these aside and then began to work on the clock. My first task was to take this clock from looking silver and modern to rusted and old. I gave it a coat of black gesso first, then got out some of the Finnabar Rust Effect Paste. I gave it a coat of all 3 of the rust colours in brown, orange and yellow.

Once the paste was dry, it was time to add more texture to the clock with the Best Glue Ever and some Orange Mica Flakes. I dabbed the glue on various places all over the clock and then sprinkled on the mica flakes.

I love the look it gave to the clock!

It really looks all rusty and has loads of texture now.

For the inside of the clock I gave it a similar treatment. I painted the inside black and then using the Best Glue Ever again, I went in random places inside the clock with the glue and then sprinkled the Stampendous Gold Lux Mix, which is a mixture of mica flakes and glitter.
The result is that it looks like a dark starry sky on the inside of the clock!

I next got out some of my flowers and gave them a spray with some of my Fireworks sprays in Cantaloupe and Tangelo. Once sprayed, I set them aside to dry.

Next, I used a wooden gate from Fernli Designs. I gave it dabbling of some orange and grey paints. Then using The Best Glue Ever, placed some of the glue in spots on the fence. I let this dry until it was tacky.

Once the glue was tacky, I used some of the orange Transfer Foils on top of the fence.

You Can see below the results of the paint and foils.

I also used the Best Glue Ever to glue on some rhinestones on the metal sentiment and the wooden key.

I also used the Best Cleaner Ever and the Perfect Cleaning Cloth to clean the glass for the face of my clock. It worked so great and got all the fingerprints off the glass from me altering it.

I then began to add my pumpkins and embellishments to the inside of the clock. I put some moss down first to give the pumpkins something to rest on. I also added some flowers and butterflies as well.  On the back piece of the clock I glued down the fence and my Pumpkin people which I printed off a free image from Pinterest.

I also glued some of my little pumpkins to the top of the clock, added a few bits of moss and butterflies.

As a finishing touch I added some of my flowers I sprayed and also some Petaloo flowers in coordinating colours. I also added some seam binding, which I also sprayed and the wooden key from Fernli Designs.

Card Making Fun!

Hello friends! Today I would like to share with you some cards I have created.  I really enjoy making cards, they are like little canvas' that you can create anything on. So lets get started and I will share what I have done on each individual A4 card. There will be a list of products used at the bottom of each card for your convience.

First up is this lovely shabby chic style card. I love to layer on different papers and laces, in this case I have used Bo Bunny paper.  I distressed each side of the paper and went around them with my distress ink in Vintage Photo.  After I layered on the papers and lace, I added some fun chipboard  embellishments from Gina's Designs.  The chipboard cameo I embossed in Ranger fine black embossing powder, and the needle and thread were also embossed as well. I used the "You leave me in stitches" stamp sentiment from Recollections.

 Items Used
Bo Bunny Madeline Paper
Ranger Embossing Powders
Gina's Designs Chipboard
Lace from Suhafuaha on Etsy
Prima Wire Thread Lime Green
Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers

Next up is this soft and romantic card. I started off once again with an A4 size card, then layered on some Recollections cardstock in light blue. I used a Prima stencil in a demask pattern and some Ranger Distress sprays in Stormy Sky. I then heat set the spray on the cardstock and got out another Prima stencil and some Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste. While the paste was still wet, I added some Holographic embossing paste to it, and then used my heat gun on it. The result is that the embossing paste and powder puffed up and gave this card a cool dimensional look, I really love how it came out! I added some flowers, vintage lace and stamped sentiment to finish it off.

Recollection Cardstock
Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste
Ranger Holographic Embossig Powder
Wild Orchid Crafts Flowers
Lace and Stamp From My Stash

Next up are two cards I created for Valentine's Day. I love doing mixed media work, and this was a fun chance to get out my sprays, paints and even some mica flakes!
The card on the left, is first embossed thru my Big Kick machine with a celtic knot design.  I them layered on some Fireworks Sprays by Imagine Crafts in pinks and light blue tones. Then I got out some fun Tim Holtz rubons and  added them to the background. I added some fun laces along the left side of the card, along with some clay pieces I created myself out of Fimo Clay.  I used another lovely chipboard piece from Gina's Designs, I really love the scroll heart, and added some metals and wood pieces. The final touch was some Stampendous Mica Flakes in Pearl to give lots of texture.

The card on the right was created with some of the Prima Stationers Desk paper. I distressed the paper then inked around the edges with vintage photo distress ink.  I tore the top right of the paper and added some antique lace peeking out for dimension. I layered more of the papers on, and a wooden atc card which says love, and stamped out a sentiment from a Prima Stamp. A Prima butterfly and some chipboard which I embossed finished it off.

Next up is a simpler card which I used some dies I cut out from Memory Box Dies. I love the little pouncing kitty cat trying to peek out the window!  I kept this one simple in a black, white and grey theme.  I layered the "Just a note" die cut with 4 layers of the die glueing each layer on top with Glossy Accents to give the sentiment some height and dimension.  I used some lovely flowers and appliques from Kraftsupplies for you in the top corner and a little touch of white flowers in the bottom right corner.

Last, but certianly not least, is my lovely Prima Bloom Girl Card. This stamp is named "Gardenia". I really love these stamps they are fun to play around with! I began with the A4 card, layered o some pink cardstock and then stamped the image on white cardstock. I used my Lyra Watercolor Crayons to highlight the face and hair and lips. I also sprayed some Rose Bud Fireworks Sprays in the background to keep the pink theme of the card going.  I used a lovely beaded applique which I cut apart, then sprayed the central flower with more Light Pink Fireworks Sprays. I cut out some flowers from some lace and then layered them on around the central flower. I sprayed one piece in a darker pink and left the others white. I added some resin and ribbon flowers to top them off.  I added a sentiment to the bottom of the card and tucked in more pink lace at the top and bottom for dimension.

A Very "Meowy" Christmas! Rubbermoon Stamps DT Project

Hello friends, Kim here today, I would like to share some fun Christmas themed cards I have created using Rubbermoon Stamps and some fun products from Imagine Crafts.
First up is my very "meowy" Christmas card. I love the whimsy with this card and the "Impurrfect" kitty cat stamp I used as a focal point.

I love the whimsy with this card and the "Impurrfect" kitty cat stamp I used as a focal point. Behind the kitty I used a scroll frame from Gina's Designs, and painted it a soft ivory color, then stamped the "stardust" in the background behind the cat.  I used some Imagine Crafts gold embossing powder to give a lovely shimmery look to the frame.

Behind the card I spritzed some of the Imagine Crafts Shimmer Spritz in gold and sparkle tones. Then used the Dots and Circles Stamp with some silver Delicata Ink from Imagine Crafts to create a fun background on the card.

Finally I added some metal snowflakes to each of the corners of the frame to finish it off
.
Here are some of the fun products I used from Imagine Crafts, I just adore their items and they really made my cards sparkle!

For this next card I used the 3 Snowman Stamp in the center, and colored them in with some copics to give some Christmas tones to the card.

For the background I used some of the Gina's Designs cardstock doilies. I laid them on my card and then used some of the  Fire works sprays from Imagine Crafts in Bahama Blue and Paris Dusk. I love the tones it gave, I really wanted to give the image of a wintery background.

I love the effect the sprays and doilies give, they really look like snowflakes!

After the sprays had dried I then used the Box O'Flakes Stamp and some silver embossing powder on top to add to the background. I really wanted a nice shimmer to the card, I also layered more of the Shimmer Spritz Spray on top as well.

I used some of the Art Squares precision cut matboard to layer on top of the background and used some of the Irresistible Pico Embellisher to draw snowflakes and dots on it. I then used more of the Fireworks sprays to complete the background look on the matboard.

I used some lace from my stash and a few more metal snowflakes and pearls, then popped the snowmen up with some foam tape.
I hope you have enjoyed looking at my whimsical cards today, thanks for taking a peek and have yourself a very "meowy" Christmas!
