Mixed Media Tag For ScraPerfect

Good morning ScraPerfect Fans, Kim here with my next DT project. This time I have created a vintage inspired mixed media tag, which is also done with some upcycling!
I used some old packaging from Prima for the base of my tag. The packaging is sturdy cardboard and makes a great base for adding layers, paint and embellishments.

I layered some vintage book paper, fabric and lace on my tag, and used The Best Glue Ever to hold it all down. Of course I used my No Clog Writing Cap which is always on my glue bottle!

I added a Tim Holtz Paper doll and some Wings from his Botanical set behind her for a whimsical look.  The Paris Tag has been coffee dyed, as well as the fabric I used to make my flowers I added to the base of the tag.

I added some blue bling and a doily as well as some white paint splatters to finish off the tag.

I hope you like my project today, don't forget to check out ScraPerfect!

Princess Gift Box White Rose Crafts DT

Good morning friends, Kim here with my next DT Project for White Rose Crafts. This time I have upcycled a left over chocolate box into a pretty gift box for a friend.

I used Mod Podge to keep the paper on the box, and did the outside and inside with the same paper line from G45. I added some of the Dovecraft glitter glue in Crystal to add lots of sparkle to the flowers and crown, and the dresses on the Princesses, on the image of the papers.

I added some vintage laces and doily with a fun resin embellishment to the inside cover of the box.
The paper is so pretty, I didn't want to over embellish, but let the paper do the talking!

The top and bottom of the box.

For decorating the top of the box, I used some more pretty laces from my stash around the edge of the box to soften the look.

I used lots of pretty Prima and Recollections flowers from the White Rose Crafts store to decorate the box as well. I also added a vintage bling piece to the box as well.

I also added more flowers to the top of the box, another fun bling piece and some silk sari ribbon to finish it off.

Once again, here is the finished gift box.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and will check out all the great items in the White Rose Craft Store!

Valentine Heart Boxes ScraPerfect DT

Happy Valentine's Day!  Kim here with my next DT project for ScraPerfect!
I have altered these adorable little heart boxes I found at my local dollar store. I thought they would be perfect to hold a little Valentine surprise for someone!

I painted the boxes a pretty pink colour using some Prima Art Alchemy paint, and then got out my Best Glue Ever to add my elements on the box once the paint was dry.
I used some beautiful Lemoncraft paper on the box. The Best Glue Ever is my go to glue for any paper crafting I do, and for this project it worked so well!

I added some rosette trim around the edges of the box along with a seam binding bow to give that shabby feel.

The tops of the boxes are decorated with lace, tiny heart buttons, bling and Tim Holtz paper dolls. All adhered to the box with the Best Glue Ever. I used the No Clog writing cap on my glue to get the right amount of glue out and not have too much glue on my projects.

I hope you like my project today and have found some inspiration here.

Mixed Media Mermaid Tag White Rose Crafts DT

Good morning friends, Kim here with my next DT project for White Rose Crafts.  It is Woodware week at WRC, and we are celebrating all things made by Woodware.
I chose to use the Woodware stamp called Mermaid & Friends this week. I really love this stamp its so whimsical and fun!

I started off my tag by using some recycled packaging from some resin embellishments as my base.  I added a piece of watercolour paper on top so I could do lots of painting and sprays to give an "underwater" look to my background.

I used some Finnabair pastes to add texture to the tag and added lots of paint splatters as well.

I used the mermaid stamp, fish and starfish stamps as my focal points, but also used the bubble stamp from the set in my background as well.

Some Recollections flowers, tulle and lace added lots of fun to the tag and helped me achieve the underwater look I was going for. I also added some colourful crushed sea shells to add more sparkle and texture to the tag.

I had lots of fun creating this tag this week, so please be sure to check out this fun stamp set and the complete Woodware line in the WRC store.

Mixed Media Box Featuring DecoArt Media!

Good morning friends, Kim here today with a fun and easy mixed media project featuring DecoArt!
I started off with a 5 x 5 paper mache box from my local dollar store.

I gave the box a coat of DecoArt Media gesso, and once that was dry added some white crackle paste from my stash to various areas of the box.

Once the crackle was dry, I got out some of my DecoArt Media Sprays, starting off with Turquoise!

I gave the box a gentle spray of the Turquoise and then spritzed it with some water to make the colour run. The DecoArt Media sprays are so highly pigmented that you only need a tiny spray to get maximum effect and colour on your project!

I also used the DecoArt Media spray in Fuschia as well and also spritzed it with water. When the sprays were dry I used a stencil from my stash and some DecoArt Media Texture Sand Paste. I love the sand paste you get so much texture with it and it spreads so easily, it makes such a great effect with stencils.

Now it was time to lay out my embellishments to see where I wanted them.

Once I laid out the embellies, I glued them down, and decided my little box needed a bit more colour. I used the Americana paint in Mulberry as it matched my colour tones perfectly! I watered down the paint a bit to make it spread and get in all the cracks.

A final touch is some watered down DecoArt Media Gesso, and I splattered it all over the box.

I added some vintage lace around the edge of the box for a finishing touch.

I hope you have enjoyed my project today and will check out all the DecoArt products!

Sweet Friend Card White Rose Crafts DT & Sketch Challenge

Good morning Rosies! Kim here with my next DT project for White Rose Crafts. I am working with this months sketch challenge, and decided to create a sweet and shabby card for a friend.

I hope you will join in the Sketch challenge too, I loved working with the sketch this month!

I used lots of wonderful items from the White Rose Crafts store this month, including the gorgeous Recollections Pink flower you see in the photo below.

I also used the K & Company epoxy sentiments to add to my card, they are so simple and easy to use!

A couple of Dress it Up buttons called "Decadence" added some sweet accents to my card.

I really love the Lemoncraft Yesterday Ephemera, and I used this one for the main focal point on the front of the card.

The final touch was some of the Dovecraft glitter glue in Crystal to give my card lots of sparkle!

Please check out the sketch challenge on the WRC blog and join in the fun!
