Have Yourself A Very Gnome-y Christmas ScraPerfect DT Project

 

 

Good morning friends! Kim here today with my next DT project for ScraPerfect.

I have created some fun Gnome inspired Christmas ornaments for my tree.

 

 

 

 

 

 I purchased some paper mache ornaments online and gave them a coat of gesso and then a coat of some Martha Stewart paint in a putty colour.

 

 

Now onto my most used and favorite technique. The Best Glue Ever and Glitter!!

I "painted" the glue on the back of the ornaments and sprinkled on mountains of glitter....cuz you can't have too much glitter!

 

The Best Glue Ever was also used for gluing down my wintery Gnome images, which I got free from Pinterest.

The Best Glue Ever is so fantastic for paper crafting, it is definitely my go to glue!

 

 

Once you have your images glued down, then trim them to fit your ornaments.

 

Once you have your images down and trimmed then add your favorite embellishments, laces, trims and bling!

 

 

Once you have your ornaments complete, then hang them on your tree!!

"#63 Snowflake Lane" Altered Paper Mache House

Welcome to #63 Snowflake Lane!  We are so happy you can stop over for a visit and sit for a while by our cozy fire. So pull up a seat, grab a mug of hot chocolate and let me show you around!

 

 

I am so happy with this little house, it was given to me a few years back by a dear friend, Mary TheCraftHoarder.  You can find her blog HERE, she is a talented lady, so please do check her out!

 

This is a paper mache house that I believe she got at Hobby Lobby all those years ago. Two years ago, I papered the house, and then, well, nothing! It sat in my studio all this time and I was finally inspired to finish it off.

 

 

I used a combination of Bo Bunny, and Kaisercraft paper to decorate the inside and outside of the house. My original idea was to create a warm and cozy little house, that I could admire for many years to come.

 

Doesn't the entrance look inviting? I love the wintery feel that was achieved by using lots of the Martha Stewart Sparkle paste. I love this stuff, its amazing, I need a large bucket of it for many more projects to come!!

 

I used a green pipe cleaner for the little wreath that surrounds the house number, curtesy of Tim Holtz.

 

For the roof, I added more of the sparkle paste, and some frosted holly leaves, berries and soft white ribbon with a very tiny light blue star for fun.

I used lots of pearl dangle trim to mimic icicles all around the house and around the chimney too.

 



 

Bottle brush trees in winter white flank the front entrance topped with more of the tiny blue stars for a festive feel.

 

 

Now it is time to peek inside! The dark wallpaper in a Nordic pattern, plays nicely off the soft white furnishings, which are curtesy of Prima Marketing.

 

 

 

A lovely white resin frame surrounds a vintage photo of a well loved ancestor. Vintage laces also make for great lacy curtains too!

 

 

The Christmas tree has pride of place right beside the fireplace hearth.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some dear Ancestors hang above the fireplace mantle.

 

 

 

A warm and cozy rug, a.k.a, a vintage wool doily, makes for a warm floor as you warm your feet by the fire.

 

A battery operated tea light makes for the perfect Christmas glow.

 

 

 

 

 The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.....

 

 

We are all ready to wait for Santa's arrival. As you peek thru the window, you will see the glow of the firelight.

 

 



 

 

And here we are back at the front door of #63 Snowflake Lane, awaiting Santa's arrival!

 Hello Everyone, I am here today to share an altered clock I have created using lots of Gina's Designs gorgeous pieces.  This clock is made from Paper-mâché and I have decorated it in a Shabby Chic style.  Now, unfortunately, this clock doesn't work, but that doesn't make it any less fun to have in your room!

I have used the Prima Lyric paper as the backdrop for the clock, and decorated the top with some lovely flowers and embellishments. I also fussy cut some of the images from the paper collection, as you will see in the photos.

 Inside the clock I have layered one of the Doilies from the Intricate Doily set, with a clock from the paper line, then some of Gina's clock hands. I cut up some of the Chicken Wire, then embossed and placed it around the hands of the clock.  I topped it off with a metal piece, which I  also embossed using a Shabby Pink Powder.

On the clock face itself, I added some metal numbers to finish the look.

 I have gone around the entire frame of the clock with some vintage peachy tan lace, added flowers, more fussy cut sentiments from the paper, and some metal numbers and clock face. I also used one of Gina's Birdcages, which I embossed with some Bronze embossing powder.

Above I have used some of Gina's new Texture Sheets in a Diamond pattern. I cut random shapes, distressed them and then embossed them using the same Bronze embossing powder as the birdcage. I love how it gives a fun mixed media look to the piece.

 I have also used one of Gina's new wood charms, which says Memories. I love all the new wood pieces in the store, this is just one of the gorgeous new pieces that are available.

 Here you can see the back of the clock, I have used masks and modeling paste all over the clock but you can really see it here. I decided to put a bit of paper embellishments on here just to give a more finished look to the back of the clock.

 Here I have placed one of my favorite pieces on the front of the clock to complete the Shabby chic look. I really love this chandelier, it is from the Parisian Shape set, which comes with lots of other fun pieces to play with.   I added more flowers and a charm to finish it off.
