Shabby Angel Accordion Book Joggles Design Team

Good morning Joggles fans, Kim here today with my next DT project for Joggles.

I have altered one of the Accordian  Books from Joggles this time, and made it into a Shabby Angel themed Mini Album.

So, lets get started! The first thing you want to do is paper your Accordion Book. I used some paper from my stash is some colours that I liked. I used the 6 x 6 accordion book and also used 6 x 6 paper, so it made it very easy to paper. This is a fun project, and there are 10 pages in the book to decorate any way you like.

 

I used my craft glue to put the paper down first to start my album.

 

 

Once you have papered your book, then it is time to start adding the embellishments. I first started by layering on some laces and trims. Once I was happy with the laces on the cover, I added more embellishments and my image.

 

 

Now its time to play with our Sticky Snippets! I layered on the sprays, drying each layer in between until I was happy with how it looked.

I used the Distress Spray in Pewter to do a cross hatch effect on the Sticky Snippets.

 

 

I used the stars to add dimension and interest to the cover.

 

 

 

I also added some bling from my stash to add a bit of sparkle.

 

 

I added some of the gorgeous and sparkly Prima Holly leaves in a rose gold colour to the front of the book, and also added some Petaloo flowers as well.

 

 

 

 

 

A resin angel, that I added some glitter to, and some pearls and bling from my stash finished off the cover nicely.

 

 

Next, it was time to paint up my wood embellishments. I used various colours of the Prima Art Alchemy Paints. There is a wide variety of colours in this line, so use your imagination and get creative! I am using wood from Fernli Designs for this project.

 

 

I continued on with my pages, adding laces, trims and more embellishments.

 

 

I kept in the same colour tones with each of the pages to keep the theme of the Winter Angels going.

 

 

 

 

 

I also added a ribbon tie to the front and back covers by tucking the ribbon under the paper for a good strong hold.

 

 

As the book turned out to be so thick with all the embellishments, this was a good solution to keeping it tied shut, but it also gives the option to display it open as well.

 

 

I left a couple of the pages blank, as this is going to be a Christmas gift for a friend, and she can add her own touches to it, or some Christmas photos of family and friends if she likes.

 

I added some laces and trims to the last few pages and she can finish them off to her liking.

 

Here is the book open, you can see it would make a lovely display for the holidays or any time of year.

Papillion Mixed Media Canvas Joggles Design Team Project

 

 

Hello friends, I am very excited to share with you my next design team project for Joggles. This mixed media canvas is so easy and simple to do! I hope you will join along with me and create one for yourself!

So, lets get started. I used one of the Windsor & Newton 8 x 10 canvas' that Joggles sells. I started off with some of the gorgeous Prima IOD pastels and just randomly rubbed a lovely taupe and light blue colour from the pack all over the canvas. I then used my fingers (Or you can use a water brush) and wet them and rubbed the colours into the background of the canvas, including the sides as well.

 

Next, I used one of Margaret Applin's Stamps, Vintage Correspondance, and some scrap paper from my stash. I gave the paper the same treatment as the cavas with the same  colours of watercolour pastels. Then, using some black StaZon Ink, I stamped all over the paper. I also wet the edges of the paper and rolled up the sides to give it a worn and distressed look.

 



 

You can see how lovely this stamp is!

 

 

 

I used one of my favorite collage pages from Joggles, Papillion II, and cut out three of the butterfly images in colours I wanted to use.

 



I glued the butterfly images down the centre of the paper. Next, I used one of the Christine Adolph rub ons. I followed the package directions to adhere the rub ons I wanted to the paper, making sure not to cover up my butterfly images. I chose a lovely flower and the word Believe for this piece.

 



When you place your foils on top of the adhesive from the rub ons, gently use the popsicle stick, which is included in the package, and rub your foils down. Its so simple and gives such a lovely look. I chose a black foil for the word, and copper foil for the flowers.

 



 

 

Now it was time to put the paper down on the canvas. I used the Prima soft matte gel from the Art Basics line. I was careful not to put much of the glue around the edges as I wanted to tuck some laces around the edges to give a further worn and tattered look.

 

Once I had the paper glued down to the canvas, I decided it needed just a little more foiling. I used some glue from my stash, its called The Best Glue Ever, and this stuff dries tacky, and is perfect for foiling. I just put it in random spots then went over them with the foils when it was tacky. 

 

That is basically it. The whole project took me about an hour or so. It is a simple and easy project to add to your home décor.

Imagine Wings Canvas for ScraPerfect Design Team

Good morning ScraPerfect fans! Kim here today to share with you my next design team project. This time I have created a mixed media canvas using lots of ScraPerfect products, so let's get started!

 

 

I started off with a 3 inch by 9 inch canvas. I love the elongated shape of this canvas, and that is what gave me the idea to paint a wing on it, its funny how things inspire us!

 

 

I drew a sketch of a wing and then used some Prima Art Alchemy paints, layering on each colour and drying each layer in between.  I started with a green gold tone, then layered on some blues and pinks on top of that. After the paints were dry, I got out my watercolour pencils and started to give some highlights and shadows to add depth to the piece.

 



 

Once I was happy with the look of the wing, it was time to play with my Best Glue Ever. I also used the No Clog Writing Large Cap to put on top of my glue bottle, so I could go around the areas of the wing that I wanted to highlight with the foil.  Once the glue was dry, but still tacky to the touch, that is when you can play with the foil.

 I used the Crimson Rain, Turquoise Rain and the Blue transfer foils from the Small Combo Set which you can find here in the ScraPerfect store. I just placed the foils randomly all over the wing, I love how it came out and added not only sparkle, but also lots of dimension as well.

 

 

Here is a close up of the wing and the lovely texture from the transfer foils. When everything was dry, I gave the whole canvas a coat of clear gesso to seal everything in.

 

 

 

I am super happy how this came out. The ScraPerfect products really helped me out  in creating this piece of art.
