Mixed Media Easel Card Tutorial PT 3 Start to finish

Free As A Bird Book Box

Hello Friends! Today I have a lovely project to share. I have created a Bird Themed Book Box. I love how this came out, mostly in part to Gina's amazing book box of course but also, I love the huge key with the birds!

In this photo you can see some of Gina's feathers which I used texture paste, and some embossing powders to achieve the look. I wanted them to match the coloring of the birds on the paper. I then added a few little flowers and some laces and trims around the edge of the book box.

Here is a close up of the Bird Wall Art Key, I did a lot of work on this, using texture paste, embossing powders and also some Americana Old Gold paint on it as well, love all that texture!

Here is the inside of the box, I decorated it simply with papers from the paper line and some laces from Craftsupplies1.
I added a cute little metal handle to the outside of the box and that finished it off nicely.
Thanks for stopping by today to take a peek!

Mixed Media Easel Card Tutorial Start to Finish PT 2

Friday 23 May 2014

Happy Friday everyone! Today I would like to share a fun little project I created to hang on my wall in my kitchen. These are my Shabby Cottage Window Shadowboxes, which are made from Gina's Bagatelle Boxes.

I really love these little bagatelle boxes, they come in lots of different sizes, and you can purchase them in a set of 12! I had a lot of fun with these, and got out the Large Cottage Windows to place over the top of the boxes to create the illusion of looking in a cottage window. I did a lot of mixed media work on the windows, and it was fun to get my hands dirty!

You can see in the first one, several of Gina's other pieces, such as the postage stamp frames, gears, diamond texture sheet, stackable labels set, and a few pieces from the spring shape set as well. I embossed, painted and stamped on most of them and of course added some laces for a finishing touch.

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a look at my shadowboxes and I hope you will give them a try!

Sewing Themed Pyramid Base Shelf, A Gina's Designs Lasercuts DT Project

Happy Friday everyone! Today I am excited to share this new project with you. It is the Pyramid Base Shelf, which is a new product from Gina's. Being someone who sews,  I really love to do things in a vintage sewing theme. I needed some extra storage space for my threads on my sewing table and this great storage piece worked out perfectly.

I used the Kaisercraft Needle & Pin paper for the background.   It really has a great sewing theme to it, and also has some very cool vintage ladies on it as well.  After I put the Pyramid Base Shelf together, I painted it with gesso, then a lovely Martha Stewart paint, called Sea Lavender.

Above here you can see some great pieces I used from the Vintage Seamstress Shape Set, I embossed the scissors and spools to match the paper,  and then I got out some of the fun scribbled lines from the Scribbled Line Set and used it like thread coming from the sewing machine on the top of the shelf. I just love how this looks!

The extra wide base to this shelf will come in very handy to store extra thread!

Above here you can also see I have used some of the super cute Button Borders. I used texture paste, paint and embossing powder to give them lots of color and texture.

I also created a little match book to store my pins in, using more of the button borders and another spool and needle from the Vintage Seamstress Shape Set to decorate the front.

I hope you will check out the full range of three dimensional storage products Gina has in her store, there is some amazing storage solutions for all kinds of different needs.
